Father's Day

We were excited to walk out of church and see the sun shining and the clouds receding.  Although an indoor picnic sounded ok.. it was nice to be able to head out to a local park and enjoy the afternoon with ...

yummy food
(garden salad, 3 types of tea sandwiches - roast beef, fresh mozzarella, and smoked salmon, warm brie with pears & apples,  lime rice, spicy cilantro chicken, and fresh fruits and custard for dessert - and yes, my sister and i have a habit of going just a little bit overboard)

...good company

...peaceful ambience (not to mention some shade)

...space to run off some energy

...giggly, happy baby
...time to enjoy giggly, happy baby

But, I have to say the best thing about Father's Day this year was the chance to hear my husband speak in church again.  It's something I believe he has a gifting for and it's been too long.  I'm thankful for a great pastor who is so interested in stirring up the gifts in every member of the church.   If you're so inclined, click here to listen.  (click on the 'service_06_20_10.mp3' and move to the 19 minute mark)
